Last updated: 22 April 2026

1. Who we are

This website is operated by The Special Something Selects ("we", "us", "our"), based in Vilnius, Lithuania. We import distinctive beverage brands into European markets.

For any questions about this policy or your personal data, contact us at hello@thespecialsomethingselects.com.

2. Scope

This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal data when you visit our website or contact us. It is written to comply with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (the "GDPR") and applicable Lithuanian data protection law.

3. What data we collect

We only process the limited categories of personal data listed below.

a) Contact form submissions

If you fill in the contact form, we receive the information you provide: name, email address, company / brand name, your role and the content of your message. Submitting the form is voluntary.

b) Spam protection (Google reCAPTCHA)

We use Google reCAPTCHA (invisible) on the contact form to detect automated submissions. reCAPTCHA collects hardware and software information (e.g. device data, browser data, IP address) and sends it to Google for analysis. We do not control what reCAPTCHA collects; please see Google's Privacy Policy and Terms.

c) Analytics (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used (pages visited, approximate location, device and browser type, time on page, referring sources). Google Analytics relies on cookies and similar technologies and may transmit data to servers operated by Google LLC, including outside the EU/EEA.

d) What we do NOT do

  • We do not show advertising and do not run ad-targeting cookies.
  • We do not sell or rent your personal data.
  • We do not build advertising profiles about you.

4. Why we process your data and on what legal basis

  • Responding to your enquiry — to read and reply to messages sent via the contact form. Legal basis: Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (steps taken at your request prior to entering a contract) and / or Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in handling business enquiries).
  • Spam prevention via reCAPTCHA — to keep the form usable and protect our systems. Legal basis: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in security and integrity).
  • Audience analytics — to measure and improve the website. Legal basis: Article 6(1)(a) GDPR (your consent, given via our cookie banner where required).

5. Who we share data with

We share personal data only with service providers acting as processors on our behalf:

  • Google Ireland Ltd / Google LLC — reCAPTCHA and Google Analytics.
  • Our hosting and email providers — to deliver the website and receive contact-form messages.

We do not sell, rent or otherwise disclose your personal data to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

6. International data transfers

Some of our processors (notably Google) may process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where this happens we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and / or the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework as the legal transfer mechanism, together with additional safeguards where appropriate.

7. How long we keep data

  • Contact-form messages: kept as long as needed to handle your enquiry and our subsequent business relationship, then deleted or archived (typically up to 24 months after the last contact, unless a longer retention period is required by law).
  • Analytics data: retained according to the retention settings configured in Google Analytics (typically up to 14 months).
  • reCAPTCHA data: retained by Google according to their own policies.

8. Your rights under the GDPR

You have the right to:

  • access your personal data and receive a copy;
  • have inaccurate data corrected;
  • have your data erased ("right to be forgotten");
  • restrict or object to processing;
  • data portability;
  • withdraw consent at any time, without affecting prior processing;
  • lodge a complaint with the Lithuanian State Data Protection Inspectorate (Valstybinė duomenų apsaugos inspekcija, vdai.lrv.lt) or your local supervisory authority in the EU/EEA.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@thespecialsomethingselects.com.

9. Security

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, alteration or disclosure. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be highlighted on the website where appropriate.
